Jam For The Land!

Join us on 9/23/23 to celebrate our 4th ever Jam for the Land Event benefiting Stowe Land Trust & Salvation Farms. Stowe Land Trust is a local non-profit dedicated to the conservation of scenic, recreation, farm, and forest lands. Salvation Farms is a federally recognized non-profit with a mission to build increased resilience in Vermont’s food system through agricultural surplus management. We’ve teamed up with North Hollow Berry Farm & Salvation Farms to create a special Jam for the Land Blueberry Basil cider that will be available at the event and at local businesses. One dollar from every 4-pack sold and draft poured will be donated to Stowe Land Trust. The event will feature a killer lineup of music including The Deadbeats, Waiting on Mongo, and Jenni & Jesse (of Dead Winter Carpenters). We’ll also have family-friendly activities, outdoor games, craft beverages, and delicious food. Come on down and Jam for the Land with us!

About the Artists:

The Deadbeats:

Formed in 2019, the Deadbeats of Stowe have continued their long strange trip and established a reputation and following unmatched among Grateful Dead-inspired acts located in the Stowe area. Led by John Hirce and Frank Springer on lead vocals, the Deadbeats are known for taking the Dead’s incredible catalogue to majestic new heights—putting new twists on standards, while also elevating some deep cuts. Their Fire on the Mountain Road tour has taken them to venues such as ZenBarn, the Matterhorn, Shakedown Street and many more. So let loose, get your dancing shoes on and jump on the bus with Frank on vocals/guitar, John on vocals/drums, Jesse Goldfine on bass, Alex Kaufman on keys and Sam Gaines on guitar.

Waiting on Mongo:

A power funk septet, WOM is an immersive experience that can only be described as a soulful journey that pushes the limits in the 4th dimension of psychedelic grooves. With strutting guitar riffs, transcendent horns, and heady organ depth, the live performances take you on a cathartic journey where you shed the weight of the world with everyone in attendance. Traversing the inner workings of the human soul, everything seems to be in its right place when the Mongo party hits full throttle.

WOM has relentlessly displayed a level of musicianship that continues to impress both music critics and fans alike, winning awards in their hometown of Asbury Park for consecutive years. With a permeating aura of soulful energy, that illuminates every venue, the band is on a collision course for new locations to spread the love that is their music.

Waiting On Mongo is: Mike [guitar, vocals], Johnny [bass], Anders [saxophone], Mongo [keyboards], Matt [drums], Harry [percussion], Bruce [trumpet].

Jenni & Jesse (of Dead Winter Carpenters):

Crossing paths for the first time at a music festival in the Northern California hills, Jenni (fiddle/vocals) and Jesse Dunn (guitar/vocals) set off on a musical journey that has spanned over a decade. Intertwining elements of folk, classic country, bluegrass and rock, the duo performs diverse sets that are both engaging and endearing. Their songwriting and vocal harmonies bend the ear and settle within the soul. Together, Jenni and Jesse spawned North Lake Tahoe based 5-piece bluegrass rockers Dead Winter Carpenters who continue to record and tour nationally today.

We'll also be hosting some fireside campfire strumming after the music finishes up. Stick around and end the night with us!

*stay tuned as we continue to announce vendors, activities, and full music schedule.
